Leeds Conservatoire collaborate with a variety of festivals across the UK to create work experience and performance opportunities for our current students and alumni. 

The Employability & Enterprise team work closely with festival organisers to deliver tailored packages specific to student requirements, whether that be as performers or staff members. 

 

The following opportunities are available at We Out Here Festival (Dorset, 15th-18th August 2024):

  • Performers - 3 performance slots available on the first day of the festival, Thursday 15th August
  • Placement workers - voluntary work placements across the following roles:

All of these opportunties are unpaid; however food and staff camping is covered, along with full access to the festival across the weekend. Leeds Conservatoire Employability & Enterprise will arrange transport to and from the site.

Deadline: Tuesday 4th June 2024, 10am

Artist Operations is offering voluntary work placements at this year’s Kendal Calling (Lake District, 1st-4th August) and Parklife (Manchester, 8th-9th June) which will be open to Leeds Conservatoire students.

The roles are in Accrediation, Artist Liaison and as Runners; full details can be found here. The placements are unpaid but include full access to the festival itself, staff camping and 2 meal tokens per shift.

Please note that this is an external opportunity not run by Leeds Conservatoire. However Employability & Enterprise will provide funding for travel to and from the festival to any successful applicants. We will also provide support with applications if needed. The application window for Liverpool Sound City (4th-5th May 2024) has now closed.

Previous experiences include, sending 25 Leeds Conservatoire DJs to Leeds Festival, to curate and perform at the campsite stages over the bank holiday weekend. We've curated showcase stages at The Alternative Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City and organised performers, curators and staff for festivals such as Underneath the Stars, Long Division and We Out Here.
