Your Career
What are your career goals/ where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years, I aim to balance employed and freelance music work, whether thats producing or gigging as a keys player, with full freedom to choose projects and workload. That’s why I honed my versatility at Leeds Conservatoire, gaining a wealth of knowledge through masterclasses and expert advice from lecturers.
What have your career highlights been so far?
Earning the role of Director of A&R and Producer at Leeds based independent record label Wavio Records through networking events and working with some of the biggest new names in Leeds such as Zulu Abantu and Krids from RK Switch. Also performing on keys in almost every major Leeds grassroots venue such as The Wardrobe and Hyde Park Book Club.
Your Time at Leeds Conservatoire
What is the most surprising or amazing thing you have learned so far?
The most amazing thing I learnt while at Leeds Conservatoire is "the difference between a good and a great musician is the level of focus", told by Jeff Ballard in a masterclass at Leeds Conservatoire in 2022.
What has surprised you most about studying at Leeds Conservatoire?
The most surprising thing for me was how integrated the tutors (particularly jazz) and the students were with each other as a community. For example running the Jazz B-side on a Friday together, supporting each other on gigs whether the tutors have the students as the support acts or they might even be the support act themselves.
What made you choose Leeds Conservatoire?
I chose Leeds Conservatoire as it is the only specialist music collage that has a joint course of Jazz and Production as I wanted to pursue both interests at the same time. I heard that the jazz scene in particular was second best to London and was eager to network and make connections in Leeds.

The best part of living in Leeds is the city centre being very walkable (around 30/40 mins end to end). The people here are also very down to earth and give everyone, no matter who you are and where you've come from, a warm welcome.
