WYMN has unveiled a new action plan designed to boost the region’s music ecosystem. Part of Tracy Brabin’s You Can Make It Here programme, designed to support and drive growth across the region’s creative sector, the WYMN launched with Leeds Conservatoire, Come Play With Me and Create Britain.

Taking place from 6 to 18 July at Leeds Conservatoire, the one-of-a-kind festival will showcase over 40 different theatrical productions. The programme includes original theatre, new musicals, play readings, scratch performances, comedy, dance works and commissioned productions.

During the visit, senior colleagues signed a formal agreement marking a new chapter for future collaborations between the two creative institutions, which will include masterclasses and workshops.

Leeds Conservatoire students, and soon-to-be graduates, are set to perform and complete work placements at Deer Shed Festival for the second year in a row, as part of an ongoing partnership.

Leeds Conservatoire representatives recently visited one of the top music institutions in China to explore future collaborations and potential opportunities for students.

Sound City has selected four Leeds Conservatoire artists to perform at this year’s festival; the tenth year in a row. To mark this milestone, as well as the conservatoire’s own 60th anniversary, sessions have also been added to the Sound City+ Conference schedule.
