Bhupinder (BSc Hons, PGCE) is a disciple of the renowned Tabla Maestro, the late Pandit Sharda Sahai Ji (Leeds Conservatoire Fellow), who was the direct descendant of Pandit Ram Sahai Ji, the founder of the Benares Gharana.  This legacy of Tabla continues to flourish by the 6th generation Tabla maestro and the current torchbearer of the Benares Gharana, Pandit Sanju Sahai Ji.  Bhupinder has been fortunate to have performed for many years with a vast array of artists ranging from traditional Hindustani Classical Music right through to touring with fusion bands throughout Europe and further afield.

Alongside performing and developing musically, Bhupinder had always been interested in the reproduction of sound and all the facets of music production. This fascination advanced into following an educational route into Music Technology as well as gaining a wide range of live and studio based experience.  Whilst at university, Bhupinder set up a recording studio/production house which gave him a solid experience and opportunity to experiment and be creative. Since then, Bhupinder collaborated and also led many exciting projects where he has used his range of skills to great effect, such as recording and mixing albums, live FOH sound, composing for The Halle orchestra, the creation of an iPhone app through to the recording, mixing and mastering of numerous film soundtracks and background score.

Bhupinder’s music production partnership with Craig Golding goes a long way back, starting out by taking on the Front of House production for many live shows all over major European venues.  This extended to more studio based projects and being nominated for best production in South Indian Cinema with the film Vidyum Munn. Since 2011, they have undertaken many music production projects with esteemed music composer Girishh G (Leeds Conservatoire MA Alumni). This partnership continues to flourish on a number of releases in Tollywood and Bollywood.

Bhupinder is a vibrant soul and is very keen in passing on his knowledge and experience in the industry and has done numerous workshops/master-classes/residencies all over the UK as well as a popular member of the team of lecturers at the Leeds Conservatoire.
