Consultation Sessions

Thinking about applying to study at Leeds Conservatoire? A consultation session is a great way to get personalised feedback and advice from one of our tutors before you apply. It’s a chance to ask questions, build your confidence, and feel more prepared for your audition or interview.

Whether you’re an experienced performer or just starting to think about higher-level study, consultation sessions are open to all levels and backgrounds.

How to Book

Cost: £50 per sessions

When: Weekdays during term time (subject to tutor availability)

Absolutely! Your tutor can assess where you are now and give you honest advice about your next steps. Whether you’re considering a BA (Hons) Music degree or a Foundation Degree, we’ll guide you towards the right course for you.

Consultations run Monday to Friday. Let us know your availability and we’ll do our best to arrange a time that works.

About an hour. Sessions are one-to-one with your tutor.

During your consultation sessions we will advise you on your current musical standard, what you can do to improve and how best to prepare for an audition or interview at the conservatoire.

Audition Guides

Bring a piece you’d like feedback on. If you are a performer, let us know in advance what you’ll be playing or singing so your tutor can prepare too.

No, not unless you specifically request help in any of these areas.

  • Online sessions: You’re welcome to use a backing track.
  • In-person sessions (where available): We can arrange an accompanist. Please let us know your piece in advance so we can plan.

Yes – we encourage you to do so.

Cancellations are fully refundable if made at least 48 hours before your confirmed booking. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, bookings can be rescheduled at no additional cost.

Online sessions mean you can take part wherever you are. All of our buildings are fully-accessible (step-free access) for in-person consultations at Leeds Conservatoire.

If you need additional support or adjustments (e.g. captions, large print, coloured overlays, or extra processing time), let us know when booking and we’ll be happy to arrange this
