Your Time at Leeds Conservatoire
What was the most surprising or amazing thing you have learned?
The most amazing thing I have learned since studying at Leeds Conservatoire is the openness to collaborate with other students with different musical backgrounds. I’ve found that a large majority of people are willing to and eager to work with different artists and instrumentalists, even if it doesn’t lead to anything long-term.
What made you choose Leeds Conservatoire?
The facilities have been continuously surprising throughout my time here, as there are studios and equipment here that I didn’t see on the open days. There always seems to be new spaces and resources at our disposal.
Your Career
What are your career goals/ where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In the next 10 years I plan on being able to make a living from session work on piano/ keyboard and guitar. This is something I have already began doing with some artists, so I plan on building this further after I graduate.
What have your career highlights been so far?
So far, performing live at BBC introducing in Nottingham as a session Keys player has been a highlight for me, as well as recording a live acoustic session at Konk Studios in London with artist Joel Foster. I am also very proud of my band Summertime, which I have been building since early 2025 and is growing well.
Studying in Leeds
What's your favourite part about studying in Leeds?
I love living in Leeds because of how convenient it is to get around. Town centre is relatively small but dense, and the uni isn’t usually too far from venues in the city. This makes it easier to get equipment to and from venues for gigs and studios.
