Bio: I'm Isla, a First Year Actor Musician, from Cambridge. I love a wide span of performing arts such as acting, songwriting and musical theatre as well as having a passion for creating original material through writing poetry, scripts and prose.

Your Time at Leeds Conservatoire
What is the most surprising or amazing thing you have learned so far?
How easy it is to make great friends when you're in an environment with so many creative, like-minded people. On top of this, how important connections are in the industry!
What has surprised you most about studying at Leeds Conservatoire?
How brilliant the facilities actually are.
What made you choose Leeds Conservatoire?
It felt so warm on the open day and I just felt it seemed like a place I would learn so much from whilst growing personally too. Leeds is also such a great city.
Your Career
What are your career goals/ where do you see yourself in 10 years?
The dream is to have a career in the arts that allows me to balance both acting/theatre and music/ songwriting. I would love to be successful in both disciplines and occasionally work on projects that combines them too.
What have your career highlights been so far?
- Becoming a BBC Introducing supported artist.
- Having my music chosen for a Spotify editorial playlist.
- Workshopping (2024) and then being in the cast (2025) of Lightning Boy with National Youth Music Theatre (NYMT).
- Playing the Cambridge Junction.
Studying in Leeds
What's your favourite part about studying in Leeds?
Leeds is a city with everything in it! It has wonderful nightlife, great shops, beautiful scenery, great theatre and SO MUCH music. It's also such a diverse city with a lovely community feel.
