LC Pop Choir x Celebration Gospel Choir
Two choirs, one night. Leeds Conservatoire's LC Pop Choir, sixty seven singers drawn from current students and recent graduates, shares the bill with the Celebration Gospel Choir for an evening of pop, soul and gospel backed by a full live band with a three piece horn section. The Celebration Gospel Choir open the evening and LC Pop Choir close it, with a set that runs from Tina Turner to Hezekiah Walker. Expect a loud, warm, joyful night and a room on its feet by the end.
LC Pop Choir is the flagship contemporary vocal ensemble of Leeds Conservatoire. Founded in 2014, the choir has established a strong reputation for musical excellence, presenting innovative arrangements and a distinctive contemporary choral sound. Performances have included appearances at prestigious venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and the Royal Albert Hall, as well as national recognition as winners of the BBC’s Pitch Battle (2017). More recently, the ensemble was featured on Britain’s Got Talent, reaching new audiences and further strengthening its profile on the UK choral scene. LC Pop Choir continues to exemplify the creativity and artistry of Leeds Conservatoire, offering performances that reflect both the versatility of popular music and the talent of its student community.
