LC Wind Orchestra - Celebrating International Women's Day
Join us in the Brodrick Hall as part of Leeds Conservatoire's 60th anniversary celebrations, for an evening of exciting and provocative repertoire written by female composers and allies, presented by the Leeds Conservatoire Wind Orchestra.

Steph is a conductor, clarinettist, saxophonist and music educator originally from East London.
Steph has studied at the Royal Northern College of Music with Mark Heron, Clark Rundell, David Hill and Nicolás Pasquet and is regularly an Assistant Conductor for the BBC Philharmonic and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. As well as conducting the Hallé Orchestra and the Manchester Camerata, Steph has attended masterclasses by John Storgårds, Ludovic Morlot and Alpesh Chauhan. Previously, Steph has trained with the Royal Air Force Music Services has attended the internationally renowned Wind Conducting Course in association with the BASBWE Education Trust and studied with Alberto Roque, Bjørn Sagstad and Agata Zając.
She is the Director of Music for the National Concert Band of the RAF Air Cadets and regularly conducts professional, amateur and county youth ensembles in South East England. She is the founder and conductor of the professional chamber orchestra, Halling Sinfonia.
Steph studied clarinet and saxophone performance – jazz and classical – with Carlos Lopez-Real (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), Christian Forshaw (GSMD), David Fuest (Purcell School), Joanne Rozario (Northern Ballet) and Pete Grogan (Mercury Prize Winning – Led Bib). She performs as a soloist and plays in numerous ensembles and orchestras across the UK.
Until recently, Steph was a Senior Manager at Surrey Music Hub, leading out-of-school provision and continues to consult with Music Hubs. Steph is a Freeman of the Musicians’ Company.
