Undergraduate Audition & Interview Information

Open Days

Applicants to certain courses at Leeds Conservatoire will need to audition, interview or submit a portfolio of work.

You can find guides for the 2021 entry audition process below. 2022 entry audition guides will be available in due course. In the meantime you can look at the 2021 entry guide to give you an idea of what we might ask you to do.

Audition and interview guides 2021 entry

Acting

Due to current social distancing guidelines, we are asking all of our applicants to initially submit audition materials online this year, rather than attend an audition in-person.

If you are successful after Round 1, you will be invited to a Round 2 'in-person' or 'virtual' group recall audition.

This guide will set out what you will need to submit when applying to BA (Hons) Acting at Leeds Conservatoire.

Actor Musician

Due to current social distancing guidelines, we are asking all of our applicants to initially submit audition materials online this year, rather than attend an audition in-person.

If you are successful after Round 1, you will be invited to a Round 2 'in-person' or 'virtual' group recall audition.

This guide will set out what you will need to submit when applying to BA (Hons) Actor Musician at Leeds Conservatoire.

Musical Theatre

Due to current social distancing guidelines, we are asking all of our applicants to initially submit audition materials online this year, rather than attend an audition in-person.

If you are successful after Stage One, you will be either be invited to submit further materials or invited to an in-person recall.

This guide will set out what you will need to submit when applying to BA (Hons) Musical Theatre at Leeds Conservatoire.

Classical

We are currently working on our audition guides for 2022 which will give you the option to audition in person at our campus, or online by uploading your audition videos.

In the meantime, the 2021 guide below will give you a good indication of what you will need to submit/perform when applying to one of our Classical courses at Leeds Conservatoire.

Film Music

Due to current social distancing guidelines, we are asking all of our applicants to submit a portfolio and interview online this year, rather than attend an interview in-person.

Folk

Due to current social distancing guidelines, we are asking all of our applicants to submit their audition materials online this year, rather than attend an audition in-person.

Foundation Degrees (FdAs)

Applicants will be assessed by UCAS application. Some applicants may be invited to submit a portfolio for assessment. 

Jazz

We are currently working on our audition guides for 2022 which will give you the option to audition in person at our campus, or online by uploading your audition videos.

Music Business

Audition travel costs 2021 entry

Audition fees are no longer charged for any undergraduate or postgraduate course at Leeds Conservatoire.

Due to current social distancing guidelines, we are asking all applicants to submit audition, interview and portfolio materials online this year, rather than attend in-person events. If you are invited to attend your audition in person, and you are from a household with an income of less than £25,000, and would like to apply for a refund of your travel costs, please download further information and an application form here.

Please note: travel cost refunds apply to UK residents who have already applied, and have attended an audition in person at Leeds Conservatoire, not to those attending locally based workshops/masterclasses or pre-application auditions.
